Tasks, most of them created with hot potatoes software, aiming to familiarise students with cloze tests structure in an entertaining way and equip them with useful reading comprehension strategies (scanning technique) along with cloze tests techniques through reflective thinking. More specifically, students, in groups, are engaged with gap-filling, mixed-up sentences, multiple choice exercises, a task which raises students' awareness with regard to cloze tests sructure and finally with a complete cloze test to apply the newly taught learning strategies. All activities are based on an article about Erin Brockovich film, starring Julia Roberts, while the cloze test in particular is structured in a game-like form.
